Gustav Melin New Chairman of WTS – “The Interest is Steadily Growing”
World Thermal Services AB (WTS) is part of BK Tech Group AB. WTS provides burner systems and assists various industries and energy companies in transitioning from fossil fuels to fossil-free alternatives. Gustav Melin has 30 years of experience in the bioenergy sector, and will now be appointed chairman of WTS – a company he has admired for many years.
WTS has been active in the burner system industry since 1989 and became part of BK Tech Group AB in early 2023. Jan Vikström, CEO of BK Tech Group AB, shares:
“As with the rest of the BKtech Group, WTS plays a role in the green switch movement, assisting our clients in shifting from fossil fuels to renewable alternatives. With installations in many locations around the world, and Gustav Melin’s extensive experience in bioenergy, we can contribute to accelerating our customers’ ’roadmap to net zero’”.
The burner is a so-called multifuel burner, meaning our customers don’t need to choose a single fuel type. The burner operates effectively with (bio)gas, (bio)oil, and wood powder. Additionally, multiple fuels can be used simultaneously, providing great flexibility – now, and in the future.
Gustav Melin has been active in the bioenergy sector since the 1990s, and was the President of Bioenergy Europe from 2010 to 2016. He sees great potential in WTS:
“I’ve had a keen interest in WTS for many years, even before I joined Svebio. The multifuel burner presents significant potential for switching to renewable fuels in most energy facilities, whether they burn oil or natural gas. I look forward to supporting Joakim Svensk, CEO of WTS, in further developing this knowledge-driven company through recruitment and other initiative — at a time when the need and interest in our solutions are steadily growing”.
WTS’s products and services can be found in a variety of industries. Currently, two 15 MW burners are being installed for an energy company in Switzerland, another is being installed at the world’s largest wood flooring factory in Croatia, and a third at a well-known brewery in Halmstad.
Christer Rosendahl, Sales Manager at WTS, notes that the products are attracting significant international interest:
“We’re seeing significant interest in our solutions, with inquiries coming in from around the globe. While we manage these inquiries, we’re also packaging our upcoming offerings for asphalt plants and customers who dry various materials. This could range from cement to grains, where we find that our multifuel system is an effective solution for industries looking to transition from fossil fuels to fossil-free options. The availability of wood powder, which is the primary fuel for the burner, is robust, providing a reliable and economical solution”.
